Make room for every product person.
ProductCamp works when people can disagree, ask unfinished questions, and share experience without being diminished or put at risk.
The standard
Everyone taking part in ProductCamp Vancouver—including participants, facilitators, organizers, volunteers, sponsors, and guests—is expected to help create a respectful, inclusive, and practical community experience.
Be curious. Critique ideas without attacking people. Make space for voices that have not been heard. Respect names, pronouns, boundaries, accessibility needs, privacy, and different levels of experience. Ask before photographing or recording someone.
What is not acceptable
We do not allow harassment, intimidation, threats, stalking, unwanted sexual attention, deliberate misgendering, sustained disruption, or demeaning conduct. Racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, ableist, or otherwise discriminatory content and behaviour are not welcome.
Session ideas and contributions must not promote hate, violence, exploitation, or targeted abuse. Deceptive promotion, repeated sales pitches, spam, and sharing another person's private information without permission are also outside the purpose of the event.
How session moderation works
Every session submission stays private until an organizer checks it against these guidelines. An organizer may ask for a clear change, approve it for the community ballot, or decline it under this policy. A proposal that violates these guidelines will not be published or selected, regardless of how many votes it might otherwise receive.
Moderation is a safety and eligibility check, not editorial curation. Among eligible ideas, registered attendees choose the programme through community voting.
If something happens
Tell an organizer in person, or email stewart@productcampvancouver.org. Share only as much detail as you are comfortable sharing. We will limit information to the people needed to respond and will consider safety, consent, and fairness when deciding what to do.
Organizers may give a warning, end a session, remove someone from an activity or venue, cancel their participation through the registration provider, or prevent future participation. Immediate safety needs take priority.
Where it applies
These guidelines apply in the session platform, at the event and related social activities, in event communications, and whenever someone is representing ProductCamp Vancouver.
